Cooking with Jonah: Ham & Swiss Hot Pockets and Homemade French Fries

Monday night was Jonah's turn to cook. We didn't have a recipe but she knew what she wanted. Ham and Swiss Hot Pockets and Homemade French Fries

Your ingredient amount will vary depending on the size of your family.

  • Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
  • Swiss Cheese
  • Sliced Ham (we used Healthy Ones)
  • Cooking Spray
  • Garlic salt
  • washed potatoes
Despite the fact that we have Provolone and Mozzarella in the freezer she insisted I get swiss!!

We skipped straight to the fries going in the oven. Jonah attempted to slice up the potato but she had never chopped any veggie before and well potatoes are hard. So I cut up all the potatoes thin. Jonah sprayed the glass pans with Canola Spray and lined the bottom with the potatoes. Then gently sprayed them with the cooking spray and sprinkled on garlic salt. They cooked on 400 for 40 minutes. We like our fries crispy so you may not want to cook that long! :)

Next Jonah sliced up all the Swiss Cheese into small pieces.

Then she chopped up the ham into some thicker chunks.

Next she layed one crescent roll flat and piled on ham and cheese. The layered a second crescent roll on top.

Then she took a fork and pressed around all the edges to make a seal.

The Hot Pockets went into the same pans as the potatoes on 400 for about 10 minutes.

They came out lovely and golden brown. The fries were also perfect and crispy. We left the skins on!

The verdict: Everyone loved it! Super easy meal and very delicious.

I am sure there are many other ways you could do the Hot Pockets:

  • Turkey and Provolone
  • Roast Beef and Cheddar
  • scrambled eggs, American Cheese and sausage
